Native Australian Suzanne grew up surrounded by a family of designers.  After achieving her Masters she studied under one of Sydney’s foremost designers, Barry Burns.  Her passion for Art, Furniture and Textiles led her to her travels around the world exploring and creating window displays a long the way.  She ended up staying in San Francisco doing window display, set design and residential and commercial Interior Design.

Suzanne’s daughter, Jennifer moved to San Diego and received her Business Degree at USD.  11 years ago, Suzanne followed and took over WDI Design. Jennifer realized she too had a passion for design. She went back to school to get her design degree, while working in the textile and furniture industry.  Much to her delight, to follow in her family’s footsteps, she joined her mother in 2003.

From this time on, we have spent many hours connecting with a broad base of dealers.  The variety is important, since we like to vary our design according to the style of the house.  We have made, mirrors, from old planks of wood and ceiling tiles, then hand washed it with white paint for a country french house.  A copper sculpture, for a garden with art nouveau flowers trailing up it with a decorative rope edge for a historic home.  Sand blasted waves on a bathroom window to create some privacy yet so the client could enjoy her view from her beach house.  We look with diligence until we find the perfect accessory, painting or piece of furniture, to scale for the style of the house we are designing at the time.  Our work is not based on expensive materials, but simply on the right look for the job.  As a mother and daughter team, we enjoy working together and love to toss our ideas back and forth.  This is how we usually come up with the perfect design solution for our client and there special home.
